After a 5 year hiatus due to working on a Masters in Social Work at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign AND going through a challenging divorce, Jarrel Young has stepped back into the studio, and in May 2024 will be releasing his 3rd studio album (LP) titled “Full Custody”. A project that discusses topics like relationship issues with family members and significant other, a custody battle, social injustices, race and prejudices he’s faced, the struggle of pursuing your dreams against all odds, and even weaves a controversial story about navigating his way through the civil court system. His selection of melodic instrumentals, partnered with his charismatic flow, delivers a wholly sound project with a vibe different than that of his peers yet tastefully symbiotic and refreshing.
Mario Canon recording artist, actor, business mogul, fitness leader originally from Springfield,IL. You will see him along the likes of NLE Choppa, Twista, Montana of 300, LaRoyce Hawkins from the hit show Chicago PD on NBC, Bizzy Bone of Bone Thugs & Harmony and many more. He has guest starred on the hit TV show Empire on Fox as “Charlie Dupree.” Also he starred in a number short films as well. He currently owns his own label and clothing brand as well Starpower The Elites.

What initially started as a concept for a pair of video shoots in late 2016 has evolved into countless collaborations, content releases and live events featuring all facets of our local (and surrounding) scenes.
Including, but not limited to: The rebirth of battle rap in CU, a 12 stop tour in the winter of 2018, virtual tournament and live streams during the pandemic, as well as currently hosting the longest running hip-hop showcase in central Illinois with Cypher Saturdays.
